Road Trip

My hubby is between contracts for Intel so this week we decided to take a day road trip. We didn't go far because we got a late start but the time together was enjoyable. Here are the photos I took.

Falls City and the Luckiamute River

A bench left by an earlier visitor

Interesting rock and aged stump "sculpture"

On the other side of the river, a family of robins had
come to take a bath. I had to use my zoom to get a good photo
and this was the best I could do.

Skunk cabbage growing in an adjoining creek. So pretty!

I loved this mossy rock and the fern. I love green.

In town we saw this enigmatic stairway to somewhere.

And because I'm a plant fanatic, when we drove
past this yard, we had to stop.
Iddell Dew Gardens
Co-owner, Amy Tucker was very accommodating.
I purchased a pot of blooming Fritillaria
and veggies for my daughter.

It's always fun to get a way with my hubby and just do nothing. Have you taken any road trips lately?

  2. Great pictures. What a fun excursion. We just got home early this evening from a five day Rock Farm trip. My favorite part of the drive is all the farmland and wholesale nurseries we go by. And it's always so much fun to see what has changed in my own garden after being gone for a few days. It's so amazing to me how much things grow in such a short amount of time!

  3. I love road trips. We just drove all over Nevada incidental to attending a wedding in Las Vegas. Beautiful state with far more interest and nuance than I expected.

  4. I am so glad you got a chance to get away. Thank you for showing so much green: a sight for sore eyes in Vermont! (Still cold, still gray, no birds, no flowers, no green, just puddles, potholes and dirty snow.) You are my sunshine today!

  6. It's always nice to get out of town, isn't it? Lovely scenery. We had a blast at the yurt. In May we'll be visiting Montana again for a week. Can't wait.

  8. What a wonderful outing! I miss the mossy greens of the PNW. Thanks for sharing the beauty. No road trips, just airplane trips. Does that count?
