Here's An Idea

HELLO PEEPS. THANK YOU for your incredibly encouraging words in response to my good news. It really does make my heart sing. A great big hug to each of you.

I was planning on having a back-cover blurb ready for your critique but I've been too preoccupied with other things and didn't get it finished. My bad. Next time, hopefully.

However, I do have something to share. For all of you who enjoy writing, Cami Ostman, author, editor and all around fabulous person is one of The Chicks of the Red Wheelbarrow Writers, located in Bellingham Washington. On their website they're issuing a challenge for the month of November aka NaNoWriMo*.

All of the details are on the site so I'll just keep it brief here. It's a Round-Robin Novel Writing project. Thirty writers agree to write one chapter of a thirty-chapter novel. Because Cami was so successful in recruiting writers, she launched a second book.Yours truly contributed Chapter 6 of book 2 on Tuesday, November 6th. Given that I have never attempted fiction, I was leery but had a blast. It was such a powerful learning experience. I got to develop several characters, drop a bombshell and add a little more suspense to a secret. Now does that pique your interest?

If you want to read the novels click on the link above and then on the tab, "NaNo / Take ONE" or "NaNo / Take TWO."   Then if you're interested in writing a chapter for book 2, email Cami and let her know. She still has a few spots left to fill. Then, please let me know too so I can be sure to read it.

*NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel-Writing Month and it takes place in the month of November. You can learn about it by clicking on the link. I've never partaken but I hear it's a lot of fun.

Okay, back to the back-cover blurb. Smiles everyone.

  3. I did nanowrimo a few years back. I follwed the suggestion of never editing and just pressing on. It was super fun, but I've dared to go back and do a little reading. And I'm super bad.
