Wow - you must be so proud of his achievement Grace ! Himself and your son sound like kindred spirits. A few years ago he climbed the three highest peaks in the UK for a charity fund raiser. My feet remained planted very firmly on the ground.

I don't think I've seen a photo that has created as much tension.

I have never been to oregon, but do feel such a draw to that state. Beautiful photos. Love all that sky!

Hi Grace, If you look very closely, you may see a footpath that the rest of us are well able to traverse! Mr. S and I walked the trail which was very, very enjoyable! There were people traveling higher than we, but this trail goes pretty high!! and 'round the other side were interesting sites... tiny alpine flowers and little streams. There was even a bit of snow - which made it interesting! :-)

Your son is one of the more adventuresome and he saw things the rest of us would never have seen! Yes - bragging rights run with Moms. I absolutely concur!

I'm not good close to an edge when I'm up high. I'll never forget the day my family talked me into going up a mountain near Breckenridge in a ski lift. The ground got farther and farther away, and I insisted there must be another way down, but there wasn't, and I never plan to go on one again.

Anyway, I love the photos, though! Your son took me somewhere I would not want to go to on my own. I hope he does well in the contest.

Being that I am deathly afraid of heights, I will admire his photographic and climbing skills from across the room. I cannot fathom climbing Mt Hood..... hell, four rungs on a ladder and I am screaming like a princess!
