Hi Grace - I am usually too shy to participate in stuff like this but admire you for baring (parts of) your life to your faithful readers. I think you are not truly lazy with a garden like yours, but if any relaxation is possible after all the work you've put in on your family, I think you should definitely go for it! Gardening is relaxation disguised as work, right? Glad to know about your child with ASD, we should talk sometime. I'm scared of Twitter too!

Your north garden photo is gorgeous - it rivals any postcard I've seen. I love the extensive stonework, and how the plants are so colourful, and look so full they could almost burst out of the confines of the stone enclosures.

Your'e funny! I totally relate to the laziness. I have 3 baskets of wrinkling clean laundry watching my just type away. (it's been watching me for days now).

I also defied odds. My husband and I met when I was 14 (he was 19 and robbing the cradle a little bit). We'll be celebrating our 20th year together in January (and just had our 13th wedding anniversary)

I just love all of your pink. Special blessings to you, we Moms of special kids know the joy & exhaustion that each day brings. My youngest son is high functioning with cerebral palsy, he makes us laugh everyday. My daughter is a high school special-ed teacher.

A young bride and 4 children... no wonder you are getting lazier... you probably feel like you've lived a couple of lifetimes already. Congrats for defying the odds... I commend you.

I enjoyed learning new things about you, Grace. I see we have some things in common besides gardening and blogging. I was a month away from being 20 when we got married in 1972.

My husband is a technology/computer nerd. When he was in the process of wearing me down to agree to getting an iphone, he suggested I may like one, too. So, I ended up getting one, thinking I may blog on it, but it's too slow for my patience. Anyway, we don't text, so he signed us up for some kind of twitter where we could just tweet each other, and no one else would know our names there. Well, I never learned how to use it, and now, I am getting emails from Tweeter saying people want to be my friend, or whatever they call it. I can't even figure out how to notify Tweeter that I don't tweet, because I don't know my name or password. LOL

How old is your child with Asperger? My brother, who is a widower, has 2 sons. The younger one is a senior in high school. He has autism, and will never be independent. He is very driven by his routines, and gets upset if things don't go as he expects them to.

That Dianthus at the top is super!! Enjoyed reading a bit more about you. A baby bride! My husband comes from a family of three girls and one boy....I love family dymanics...most interesting. I have been learning, by way of my daughter, about Asperger Syndrome as she is a Special Ed teacher at a high school, hired to work with the freshmen who have Aspergers. Many are brilliant kids.
I miss our kitty, now have three dogs.
