That blue pot is a perfect container for the acer Grace. Here I have a monster cotoneaster horizontalis which needs some drastic pruning. I keep pulling seedlings up but now you have given me food for thought. I like the windswept look :)

I so prefer Grace to butcher... and from what I can see all of your case studies seem happy and healthy! I think when you have a container garden, it becomes more pressing to ensure that each specimen speaks out.... like when you get a new hairstyle... that's it, you're a stylist Grace!
