This will be a brief post. Next to me is a small bouquet with a big scent. Skimmia, hyacinth and daphne. You'd think the combination would be a major olfactory cloy attack but it's surprisingly refreshing.
It's been days since I've checked in with all my beloved blogger-buddies but I'm promising myself that tomorrow will bring opportunities for visiting.

As time allows I've been refining my garden map. Despite eye-straining tedium and esoteric software anomalies I have refused to be deterred. And then there's the weather, pleasantly springlike--evidenced by, among other things--the cacophony of frog-courting that has no mercy for my eardrums.
I have good news regarding the plagiarism: Today the good people of Google emailed me to let me know that the offending site has been shut down. I replied with a quick: "You made my day. Thank you!" Hopefully this made some hardworking computer person's day.

This is Corydalis solida 'George Baker.' I've got him in a pot because of his ephemeral tendencies. By July he'll be completely dormant.
I was elated to see berries on my Aucuba japonica 'Gold Dust.' [I know. Some of you consider this plant a royal thug but I like it.] Because the label wasn't specific and for years there were no berries, I assumed I had a male plant. Imagine my surprise at discovering he is a she.
My lovely Euphorbia myrsinities is starting to bloom, taking cues for its humble neighbor.

Glad they shut the bad guys down Grace. You must be so relieved. The spring flowers are very cheerful.

Congratulations Grace on your victory! It's very nice to know that bloggers are not alone in their battle with plagiators.
Your plants are lovely. I can imagine how surprised you were to find out that your aucuba was she. My sister had a parakeet once; it was HE til they found an egg in the cage. You just never know who is who. Have a great week!
That's fantastic news ... well done to the Google crew. Nice to see that they can actually do something.
That Corydalis is a great colour and I do really like your Euphorbia ... love its form.
Grace
Thanks for mentioning the thing about plagiarism and Google, etc. It alerted me to do a search. I just pasted in some text from one of my recent posts on Asian eggplants which generated a bit more traffic than usual, and with my blog name of 'Garden Amateur' I ended up finding my very chaste little amateur gardening blog quoted as the RSS feed for a hot Amateur Asian Ladies website, with links to photos of said enthusiastic young ladies, who I suspect haven't done a skerrick of gardening in their lives.
It's a wicked world!
Dear Grace, I am so relieved for you that your site is no longer the subject of plagiarism. As you say, well done to Google.
I thought your pot of Corydalis solida 'George Baker' absolutely lovely. Having now seen it, this is something which I feel I must grow - possible an addition to the Alpine House to ensure survival. It is always exciting when something, as in the case of your Aucuba, performs rather better than one had expected. The berries are a definite bonus!
Great News Grace!! I love the size of your photos here..
What a relief Grace, that they have been shut down. I do wish criminal action could be taken against them, I fear they will just set up a new site and start over again with some one else.
Grace girl congratulations on Google's actions .. some times you have to wonder about these things .. really WONDER about people in general ? wink wink
I am in love with that first container .. it is absolutely PERFECT .. I want one just like it too ! How about just mailing that one and you can start all over again with a new one ?? LOL
Your blog is looking wonderful .. wish I had a few tech brain cells myself : )

YAHOOOOOO! This is such good news, Grace! Now I hope the same thing happens for Charlotte. All plagiarizers should be taken out and composted.
The photos are soul satisfying, even more than usual. Oh, and the background looks great too. ;-)
Grace,
Everyone has missed you! That Corydalis solida is wow, never seen it before, I'll have to look into it.
Grace:
So happy to hear that Google shut down said site.... the sheer audacity! Lovely seeing your Corydalis 'George Baker' [I have only one tuberous species, if it returns I shall dabble with more] and your Epuhorbia myrsenities truly is a ray of sunshine. Off to start planting up the annual baskets.....arrggghh!
Glad to hear Google took care of the issue.
The Euphorbia are so interesting. I had some a few years ago but let the iris overrun them. I need to find a better spot for them.

Good morning my friend. I too have been out of the net for a while. Been prepping the house for its 'For Sale' status.
Your photo of the Euphorbia is one of the best I have ever seen. Well done! We have Acuba in the Learning Garden and its berries are yellow. If memory serves me (which could be folly) I think it is Acuba japonica Nana variagata. Glad you finally have berries.
Hooray for Google. So glad that they followed through and took that site down.
I will read through your previous posts. It is hard to catch up after being off for 10 days.
Yeah!!! Great news Grace!! Made my day too! ;>))
hey Grace, If I have two comments please pick the best one! Blogger has been misbehaving! But Google has been very responsible~~Good news about the site coming down.
I love 'George Baker' He looks like he plays well with the pinks in your garden~I just found very large and affordable cobalt blue containers at the grocery store! They're offering much better plants etc then the nurseries! I plan to add flowering plants that would hate this soil~
have a great day~ gail
Hooray for getting the scrapers shut down! They hit you, Tiggerlot and some others that I recognized the photos but couldn't remember the blogger when I looked at the link Lottie posted. It's bad when they steal photos, but stealing the accompanying text is lower than imaginable. You can sign up with Google to have anything with your title and certain key words sent to you, so you can keep check.
Love the Viola tableau. Aucuba might be a thug, but not here. A clump of Tete a Tete daffodils ( or any yellow) beside it looks super -- my photo didn't turn out super. I'm going to offer it ligularia for summer.
I am glad to hear that Google shut down the plagarist. That's what should happen. It seems so many bloggers have had pictures stolen from their sites and it's a real shame.
I love your pink violas from last year and your Euphorbia myrsinities.
Good morning Grace. I love last years spring container.Very pretty. That is a wonderful shot of your Euphrobia. The leaves are pretty enough and then add the little flowers heads.
I am so glad you got good results from Google on the posting thief. Rain Gardener will be glad also.
OOOOOOO.......Must have that corydalis!
Congrats on the plagerism struggle.
Cindee
Good job Grace! Nice news to hear the bad site was shut down.
So if one were to plan a little outing to Dancing Oaks Nursery when would you suggest as being the best time? Begining of April? Or later?
So glad to hear the site got taken down!
I love the Euphorbia, I like the little leaves on this one.
A question not related at all to this post...have you noticed that your Blueberries are showing flower buds? I know you posted a picture recently of yours and I think it had flowers. Mine are covered in leaves, not a flower bud in sight so far :(
Excellent news Grace - glad to hear that the offender has been excommunicated from Blogger. Lovely to see signs of spring appearing in your garden.
aloha grace,
i love your cordyalis also, the intense red is amazing...is this a delicate perrenial in your area? i i love euphorbias also and the chartreuse colors, i would think you would have a huge patch of this growing unless this is a newbie plant, i remember them to be big space hogs - but i still loved them.
I am so glad that google acted quickly and got that site down. It seems that many people are having the same problem. I love your Euphorbia. It looks a lot like our Euphorbia biglandulosa.
Grace, your colors & pictures are so beautiful! I really love your garden map! Gloria
It's good to know google looked after this. I was infuriated when I saw the posts on that blog...grrrr!
Anyway, all is looking here on your blog now :)
Good news on the Google front! I have found my photos in weird places and asked people to atrribute or take them down, most have complied.
Lovely euphorbia. Those leaves are amazing! I think my crocus are all done for the year.
You showed 'em, Grace--a gardener can like pink flowers and still do a smackdown.
Bravo!! So glad you've won your battle. I just spent some time checking out your sidebar...LOVE IT!! Your buttons crack me up. I like the "dork" one. So fun!
Way to go Grace. Finally someone listened to you. Way to go Google!
Jen
I am SO glad that Google shut them down. It is unconscionable!!!
Love the photos and love your words, and Yes, it is time to plant the arugula.
Love,

been spending more time with my camera, experimenting with settings, etc. The clarity of your myrsinitis photo is an inspiration.
Good news about your blog plagiarist shutdown!
It was a gender-oriented post today, what with the pink-but-manly George Baker and your female aucuba. I've been searching for a Gold Dust that doesn't set me back $50. It doesn't need to be in a five-gallon pot: I'd happily settle for a gallon - male or female!
omg, Jamie's story was hilarious!
I'm glad they shut down that blog. I still don't really get the purpose of plagiarizing though? Is there some technical/technological reason for it - or is it seriously just some true loser taking content and running a blog? That's soooo weird.
That corydalis is funny too - looks like someone sticking a finger up (not necessarily the bad one).
Glad google came through for you. I am sure you made someones day. Its always nice to be appreciated!!
As for the glue the Silicone works well for me at least(-: I buy it at WalMart usually but you can find it several different places Im sure(-: Glad you liked the mirror.(-:
I posted the info about the glue after I had a comment from someone asking me because I figured a lot of people might ask that question...lol(-:
No fingers were lost in this project thanks for asking!! My finger is all better!!!
I am so inspired by your blog. The photos are beautiful. Glad Google got the bad guys too!
Jackie
Hi Grace, just had to stop by and say how absolutely gorgeous your garden - and garden pictures are. The colors, textures and combinations are inspirational. Love the garden plan too. It's great to see how everything links together.
The pictures are helping tide me over a time of being in between gardens - and giving me plenty of ideas for when I can do some more planting myself (veggies are my immediate priority but your garden reminds me of the joy of flowers, shrubs and mixed borders).
I'm also glad that google came through for you.
You have given me hope that my gold dust acuba may one day have berries. i didn't know they could be nuisance plants. Mine are just surviving. I think your fragrant bouquet sounds great, for the eyes as well as the nose!
Just discovered your site... very nice photography and so much variety in the gardens! LC
Congratulations on the news, I'm happy to hear that you won. :)
Beautiful pictures. Loved seeing your garden layout as well. This was my first visit, definitely won't be my last.
VICTORY! I am sure it is awful to see your photos used on another site. Also, your blog looks great spread out on the full page.
That euphorbia blooming is really pretty.
I am glad that Google took prompt action on the offending site. Many bloggers seem to be affected too. Now I'm begining to wonder about mine. I find plants that has a he/she very interesting. Your photos are lovely.
