Summer Garden Photos

As promised, [Like, a long time ago. Sorry.] I'm devoting this entire post to garden photos, mostly taken during August and September. Oops. I lied. The first one is a recent drive-by shooting. Is that not just an enchanting plant?

I won't spend a lot of time with words. I know, shocking! If anything piques your interest, you're welcome to ask. Hopefully I'll have the wherewithal to reply, and in a timely fashion.

SURPRISE !! In honor of Halloween, another drive-by. Isn't this house, uh, interesting?

Okay Grace, A moment(s) of truth here. Do you ever fertilize any of your plants, if so, ill you share what you use and how often? Also, do you hand water or rely primarily on Vitamin G?

Grace:
Love that last shot.... there are some houses that inspire the strangest emotions... do the residents remotely resemble the Addams'? LOL!!
Photo five: Methinks E. myrsenities somewhat to the left, but the burgundy, bruised foliage, is that another species or C. recta, or am I totally blind this morning....?!?

Morning Grace, your garden is so lush and full. I would love to take a stroll through that great flagstone pathway and look at each and every plant.
cool house at the end...certainly one worthy of a scary movie!

Ummm, yes. That house in interesting as in Bates Motel kind of interesting. Funny how they tend to take on a spooky feel depending on the season. Your garden looked beautiful this year!

I just had to come back and stroll through your gardens again. I see something different everytime!

Thanks for sharing more. I love how you have so much variety of foliage going on and then so many pretty flowers, lots of pink, mixed in. I really like how your path meets the gravel and the containers along the edges. So pretty. What flower is the purple and white one? It looks like a Clematis that might be growing with another dark pink Clematis.

Grace, we are going to have to resort to posting pictures from this past spring/summer now our gardens are looking so shabby. Lovely selection of photos you have there. The house sure does have a Halloween feel.

I am assuming this is your garden. This is MY KIND OF GARDEN! Love it!

I like that creepy house. I can see all kinds of possibilities there. But it is kind of creepy now.

I have bookmarked this page so I can look at your garden whenever I want.

Lovely meandering through your garden this morning.
I once tried to introduce a column in a newsletter I wrote for a nursery called "drive by shootings". Like you, I thought it was kind of a fun play on words. Only time I ever got hate mail, and I didn't think gardeners, of all people, went in for that sort of thing...go figure.

I am always amazed at all of the textures in your garden. So many plants. I love the pink achillea.I like to tease you about the pink but I really love it all ;-)
Have a great weekend.

Grace your garden is beautiful, so full of colour and life. You must be so proud of what you have achieved.

Grace - a drive-by shooting has a different connotation over here :) Like Teza I am intrigued by the purple patch in photo 5.

There are some houses like that last one near here, in town. There are no gardens like the one you showed around here. Beautiful.

I enjoyed strolling through your garden, it's lovely! You're a gardener after my own heart, I love pink (and purple) in the garden.

You have so much of interest in your garden -- the different textures are as interesting as the different colors and shades.

I just got back from a landscape photography class today and I'll tell ya, I see your garden in a new light. I did always think it was gorgeous, but there are just soooooo many interesting things to photograph in your garden. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Grace, I love your gardens. I cannot believe the amount of work (and love) that's gone into all you have there. From the paths to the plantings! Now, that last house... All it needs is a lot of TLC! A little rebuilding, scraping and painting and lots of gardening... It'd be a doozy, don't you think? :-)

Great photos as always Grace! I love the drive-by plant! Great color. And the house too, scary! Did you do another drive by on Halloween to see what they were up to?

Grace, with all the oranges, yellows and browns, it's a real tonic to look at all your pinks and greens. Wish I were there to peek over the garden fence and visit - there's nothing like a garden of such variety and beauty where something new is happening every minute.

Beautiful photos as always!

Grace, I have selected you to receive the Honest Scrap Award on my blog. ;) Would love to have you participate, but should you chose not too, that is also okay.

Wowza as always. Dear Grace, what would you do without the color pink? :) Sedums are looking great along with everything else - and I love your drive-by shot of the gorgous foliage (is that a burning bush? it's so big, though, so maybe not). When I see houses like that, I usually thing "creepy" first but then wonder if the inhabitants might be elderly/poor/unable to care for their place. Makes me sad. I'm sure someone will live there eventually who will fancy it up - as with a skeleton, it looks like it has "good bones" (ha, belated Halloween joke).

You only make me miss summer more with your great photos and lush garden. It will be a long winter. Loveyour hollyhock on your last post. Just beautiful!!! They are such great plants. What a nice surprise so late in the year!

Fantastic texture in that picture with the red euphorbia(?), japanese bloodgrass, hosta, etc. What I love about your garden is that there's no bare soil in sight, you really take advantage of every available square inch for plants.
I love the spooky house. It is quite festive, but also has beautiful lines.
